(Temporary) Research Aide - Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute

The Department of Neuroscience at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Temporary Research Aide.

About the Opportunity

This person will provide support in conducting neuroscience research. The position requires a range of neuroscience-related skills in behavior, data analysis, imaging, sectioning, and cell culture. The person will be able to work with others to collect, analyze, and prepare data for the purpose of our research initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Perform wet lab experiments
• Section brains on the microtome
• Image brain sections with various microscopes
• Analyze and quantify images generated on the microscope during the study

Pay Grade: 10

Length of Assignment: 8.5 months

Work Hours: 20 Hours per week

• Associate's degree
• A minimum of 0-6 months of experience involving:
  
  
  
  • Working in a laboratory setting
  
  
  
  
• Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
• All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Animal handling
• Good observation skills
• Good record keeping
