Job Title: Platform Engineer

Job Duties: Uline, Inc. seeks a Platform Engineer in Waukegan, IL to develop and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce errors. Integrate CI/CD tools such as ADO, Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarQube, UrbanCode Deploy with version control systems. Implement automated testing and deployment processes. Upgrade CICD tools servers to LTS version for performance and compatibility with other tools. Upgrade Docker to Podman containers strategy for Jenkins. Host ecomm public facing and internal web sites. Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of all hosted websites. Work closely with software development teams to understand infrastructure needs. Provide technical support and guidance to development teams on best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new systems. Configure IIS and related applications software. Configure WebLogic, Apache, Tomcat web/app servers according to site requirements. Conduct SSL renewal and upgrades with Ansible/Venafi automation. Analyze system performance metrics and identify areas for improvement. Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning. Upgrade software version and frameworks. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure configurations and procedures. Document automation scripts and CI/CD pipeline configurations. Maintain documentation for patching, renewal, and upgrade operational activities. Stay up to date on trends and technologies in infrastructure and DevOps technologies. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions. Participate in industry conferences and training programs. Annual salary: $125,000 - $125,000.

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field plus 3 years (or a Bachelor's degree plus 5 progressive years) of software engineering experience, in: (1) Middleware Application servers, including WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat, and Open Liberty; (2) Middleware Web servers, including IIS, NGNIX, and Apache; (3) DevOps, CICD tools, including Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarQube, ArgoCD, Tekton pipelines, and Urbancode deploy; (4) Azure cloud fundamentals including Microsoft Azure DevOps Services; (5) GitOps YAML based coding; (6) Automation with Ansible, PowerShell, and Shell/Bash scripting; and (7) Containers Orchestration tools including Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, and RedHat OpenShift Containers Platform. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
