Are you an experienced production leader looking to take your career to the next level? Our client, a leading window and door manufacturer, is seeking a hands-on Production Manager to oversee daily production operations and help build a culture of safety, quality, and performance on the plant floor.

Job Summary:

The Production Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of manufacturing on the production floor. This includes overseeing production teams, scheduling, safety, quality control, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, excellent leadership skills, and a proven ability to meet production goals while driving team engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Oversight:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily production operations to meet output and quality targets.
  • Ensure production schedules are executed efficiently to meet customer and delivery timelines.
  • Monitor workflow, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to maintain productivity.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Maintain high-quality standards and ensure all products meet customer and industry specifications.
  • Work closely with the Quality Control team to implement best practices and resolve production issues.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage, train, and mentor production staff and supervisors.
  • Set clear expectations, conduct performance evaluations, and support employee development.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Safety & Compliance:
  • Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with all workplace safety and environmental regulations.
  • Lead regular safety meetings and ensure corrective measures are promptly taken when issues arise.

Process & Efficiency Improvement:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles and track performance using key KPIs.
  • Equipment & Resource Management:
  • Oversee proper use, maintenance, and repair of equipment to reduce downtime.
  • Collaborate with maintenance to ensure machinery reliability and production readiness.
  • Help manage inventory and material usage to support just-in-time production.

Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of experience in a production management role, preferably in the window, door, or woodworking manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, quality systems, and lean production.
  • Proven leadership experience with hourly and supervisory production staff.
  • Proficiency in production planning, scheduling, and use of ERP/manufacturing software.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
