POSITION SUMMARY: The Division of Student Life; Recreational Services is seeking a Climbing Wall Attendant to check in climbers, supervise the wall, instruct climbing lessons, administer safety checks, risk management control, assist with LLS climbing classes and maintain a safe climbing area. May also assist at the Outdoor Rental Center. DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
- Knowledge of all policies and procedures of facilities, programs, equipment and operations
- Responds to all building emergencies (accidents/injuries, inclement weather, etc.)
- General understanding of all the operations of Touch the Earth as well as other Recreational Services departments
- Greets climbers while checking them into the climbing area
- Assist to keep facilities/equipment in excellent condition while also providing great customer service to our members
- Works cooperatively with other areas of the department to achieve established goals
- Promotes a safe, clean, functional and marketable facility
- Performs other work as assigned

- Have a current Top Rope Approval Card, preferably from the UI
- Previous climbing experience
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact with diverse groups through a variety of situations
- Mandatory attendance at training meetings
- Strong problem-solving and good judgement
- A passion for the outdoors!
