The Engine Chief Engineer - North America Region is responsible for leading all technical aspects of base engine design to achieve customer requirements, functional objectives, and quality targets. Scope of work includes base engine design and development, NVH, fuel efficiency, performance, durability, and engine emissions.

Responsibilities of the Engine Chief Engineer will be:



  • Key contributor for execution and compliance to the Stellantis Propulsion System Development Process (PDSP) for an assigned engine program with responsibility to summarize all technical inputs for recommendation and presentation to executive leadership
  • Critical approver for all technical decisions, timing plans, change notifications (CN's), bulletins, engine build books and service manuals
  • Responsible for approval and execution of complete engine mechanical development/validation plan for all project phases
  • Key point of contact within company for all engine related issues for assigned projects
  • Lead global cross functional teams from various department with expertise in various technical domains thru root cause analysis of issues and implementation of robust solutions
  • Lead Design System Engineers (DSE's), Release Engineers (DRE's) and designers within the engine team in meeting program objectives for assemblies, sub-assemblies, and components with respect to cost, weight, performance, quality, manufacturing, timing, etc.
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives including supplier resourcing risk assessments
  • Accountable to ensure adherence for successfully achieving all project commitments

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree field
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Preferred experience in engine design release, calibration and/or development with a propulsion system focus.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent and/or Master's in business administration
