About the Team:

Our Global SMB Learning & Development team is responsible for empowering our SMB Worldpay colleagues and partners to meet and exceed performance targets that support strategic business objectives. We do this by delivering innovative and impactful learning and development solutions that drive results.

The team collaborates with our leadership teams across Sales, Operations, Go to Market, Product, Partners and others to define and execute our learning and performance strategies. We are highly organized, detail-oriented, and are passionate about designing and implementing programs that drive success, then measuring results and adjusting to drive continuous improvement.

The Senior Director of Global Learning and Development will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive learning strategies that align with our SMB Team's business goals. This role requires a visionary leader who can drive global learning initiatives and ensure our colleagues have the skills and knowledge to excel in their roles, with a heavy emphasis on client experience, revenue generation, and improving operational efficiencies and effectiveness.

What you'll own:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive learning and development strategies aligned with business objectives. This includes but is not limited to onboarding, complex and agile project implementations, soft and technical skills, product and systems.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of innovative and scalable learning experiences across global locations, both virtual and in-person.
  • Design the architecture, methodology, tools, processes, policy, guidelines, and governance of SMB L&D to build scale, repeatability, and application to broad learner audiences.
  • Implement, administer, and evaluate internal technology tools, e.g., Learning Management Systems (LMS), authoring tools, knowledge management systems (KMs), knowledge retention tools, e-learning, AI.
  • Drive the development of a high-performance culture of learning and innovation.
  • Build and develop strategic partnerships with internal stakeholders and external vendors, clients, and partners
  • Drive collaboration, alignment, and consistency with external vendor, client, and partner L&D teams.
  • Collaborate with the broader global HR and L&D teams to ensure consistent frameworks and standards, meeting global business needs.
  • Support core strategic initiatives in areas of talent and culture.
  • Manage all people, resource, and budget activities of the L&D organization.
  • Support client opportunities as appropriate.

What you bring:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in learning and development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful learning strategies in a global organization, with a focus on large-scale initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in both strategic oversight and hands-on needs analysis, design, implementation, facilitation, and evaluation of training programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, education, communications, instructional design, business administration, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
  • Relevant L&D certifications and accreditations are a plus, e.g., adult learning theory, DISC, CTT+, MBTI, CIPD, or equivalent.

  • Global experience in management and learning and development practices across all regions, e.g., Americas, EMEA, APAC, including emerging markets.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels to identify appropriate learning needs.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in complex situations.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo, drive innovation, manage competing priorities, and multiple deadlines.
  • Innovative mindset with a focus on integrating technology-driven solutions, including leveraging AI to support learning initiatives.
  • Commitment to deliver on time with accuracy and quality, ability to multi-task and change direction in a fast-moving environment.
  • Highly trustworthy, with a track record of handling confidential information.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, leaders, vendors, partners, and clients.
  • Strong focus on external L&D best practices and trends, with a passion for all aspects of L&D.
  • Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a strategic focus.
  • Expertise in project planning and management, with a focus on large-scale initiatives.
  • Strong organizational, team building, coaching and mentoring skills
  • General business skills, industry knowledge, financial management and planning skills, long-term vision, and executive presence.
