Role Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and community-driven Manager, Social Media to lead our digital storytelling efforts and deepen our brand's presence across the communities we serve. This role is responsible for developing and executing social media strategies that reflect our credit union's mission, values, and commitment to financial empowerment. A key focus will be on immersing in local communities, capturing authentic stories, and producing compelling video content that elevates awareness of both the member and employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy & Execution



  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with brand goals and community engagement.
  • Manage day-to-day content creation, scheduling, and publishing across all platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube, etc.). Monitor trends, engagement metrics, and audience insights to optimize performance.
  • Ensure all content complies with applicable rules, regulations, and laws, including those specific to financial institutions, as well as credit union policies and guidelines.
  • Track and respond to online reviews, comments, and public inquiries in a timely and brand-aligned manner.
  • Monitor brand mentions, member feedback, and trending topics across social media platforms and online channels using social listening tools.
  • Analyze sentiment and engagement trends to identify opportunities and potential risks to brand reputation. Generate regular reports summarizing brand sentiment, competitor activity, and public perception insights.


Community Engagement & Brand Immersion



  • Actively participate in community events, branch activities, and local initiatives to capture real-time content and build relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and community partners to highlight stories that reflect our impact and values.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador, ensuring our voice is authentic, inclusive, and community-centered.


Video Production & Storytelling



  • Lead the planning, scripting, filming, and editing of short-form and long-form video content.
  • Produce videos that showcase employee culture, member testimonials, financial education, and community involvement.
  • Maintain a content calendar that integrates video storytelling into broader marketing campaigns.


Team Collaboration & Leadership



  • Partner with all areas of the credit union to ensure that authorized social media users regularly and properly share content.
  • Partner with HR and internal communications to amplify the employee experience and internal culture.
  • Guide junior team members or interns in content creation and social media best practices.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and executive leadership to align messaging and priorities.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in social media management, preferably in a mission-driven or community-focused organization.
  • Proven experience in video production, including shooting, editing, and post-production.
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics, tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite), and platform algorithms.
  • Excellent storytelling, writing, and visual communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for community engagement and financial empowerment.


Preferred Skills



  • Experience working in the financial services or nonprofit sector.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar design tools.
  • Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive content practices.


Compensation information: Offers are based on experience and education.

$92,872.00 - $116,084.80 annually
