Responsibilities

Responsible for the oversight and direction of business activity within the medical-surgical/telemetry areas. Demonstrates 24-hour responsibility for personnel, operations, patient experience and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include the planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and evaluating of economic growth, fiscal responsibility and the quality of the business-related scope whether clinical or non-clinical. The Leader collaborates with the SMG member in developing, setting, implementing, monitoring and evaluating standards of care and practice. Participates or leads assigned community, hospital, nursing and medical committees. Promotes collaborative relationships among the medical staff, volunteers, nursing, the community and other departments within the system. Demonstrates practices that promote the Mission and Vision of UHS and Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:	BS in Nursing required. MS Nursing preferred. MBA or other health related masters degree will be considered.
Experience:	Minimum 5 years of experience in Telemetry, Medical Surgical, Oncology, or Orthopedic Nursing. Minimum 3 years of experience in nursing management - experience at Nurse Manager level or higher preferred.
Licensure:	Current and active Florida State RN Licensure.
Certification:	BLS, ACLS required.
Computer:	Basic computer skills.
Other:	Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills and customer service skills required. Knowledge of human resource management, program development, fiscal management skills, and familiarity with regulatory and accrediting agency standards preferred.
