The Montgomery County Maintenance Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is seeking a Tradesman Helper to support daily equipment and building maintenance operations. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will assist mechanics by performing a range of semi-skilled tasks, including oil changes, light repairs, and tire mounting for both light and heavy-duty vehicles as required. Your responsibilities will include general building maintenance, such as cleaning restrooms, offices, conference rooms, lunch areas, foyers, and garage spaces. You will also handle trash collection, dusting furniture and fixtures, sweeping, mopping floors, vacuuming, and washing windows. Additionally, you will maintain the yard by ensuring it remains tidy, cutting grass and weeds, removing snow from sidewalks and parking areas, and managing the scrap tire area. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
