The Child Life Assistant (CLA) supports the Child Life team in delivering developmentally appropriate, patient- and family- centered care to pediatric patients. Working collaboratively with Certified Child Life Specialists and other healthcare professionals, the CLA addresses the developmental and psychosocial needs of children through play, engagement and supportive activities. This role ensures consistent access to opportunities for normalization and socialization within the hospital setting enhancing the overall patient and family experience.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Associate's Degree in child development or related field. Experience: Previous experience working with children required. Licensure: American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required within 90 days of hire. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs.
