Senior Procedural Skill Education Coordinator - Maintenance of Competency and Currency Program (MOC2)

HJF is seeking a Senior Procedural Skill Education Coordinator who will be responsible for supporting the procedural skills courses associated with the Department of Surgery and clinical readiness program at the Uniformed Services University (USU) in Bethesda, Maryland.

These include about multiple courses per year located at USU main campus in Bethesda and an equal number of courses at other domestic/ International facilities. Responsibilities also include the preparation, maintenance, inventory and operation of course related equipment/supplies; the functional operation of course related assessments; and the collaboration with other team members to facilitate and implement course activities. For each course, the incumbent ensures adherence to program, site, and certification policies, course objectives, safety guidelines, reporting requirements, and established best practices for training and assessment.

  • Assist with program team to unpackage, prepare, thorough check and set up human specimens to the laboratory LIS system, and route human specimens to their respective staging areas for the courses, set up and clean up courses.
  • Work directly with program leaders, faculty, learners and staff members to facilitate course activities and ensure all instructional media, procedures to be performed, performance assessments, and pre/post course forms (knowledge tests, demographic, course evaluation) are implemented as specified.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor workflow between course stakeholders.
  • Participate in meetings to assist with development and implementation of course experiences; coordinate the training for all new and current technical support personnel to ensure they are able to perform their roles with any new instruments, equipment, processes, procedures, etc.
  • Assist in the regular maintenance and repair of all course-related equipment; provide technical support for surgical equipment, assessment system, and synthetic simulation models used during courses.
  • Manage and implement the setup and maintenance of AV presentation systems for course slides and supporting media
  • Ensure safety for all course participants by following all sites laboratory safety guideline.


Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience required.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Technical and Professional Competencies

    • Full proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), including formatting and media integration.
    • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create functions, macros, and manage data formats for interoperability with analysis and visualization tools.
    • Full proficiency in the English language (reading, writing, speaking).
    • Ability to document and share problem-solving strategies and resolution methods.
    • Prior clinical experience in operating room settings or academic medical centers.
    • Strongly desired: Background as a clinical specialist (e.g., medic, OR tech, nurse, PA) in military or civilian healthcare environments.
    • Familiarity with medical or surgical terminology preferred.

    • Ability to communicate accurately and appropriately with team members in a timely manner.
      Willingness to collaborate and coordinate with other team members as needed.
    • Ability to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance or support.
    • Commitment to ensuring adherence to program policies, course objectives, safety guidelines, and reporting requirements.
    • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally for training and assessment support.

Physical Capabilities



  • Lifting: Requires lifting materials over 25-90 lbs.
  • Ability to stand computer for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to climb, pull, and lift heavy objects.
  • Operating motor vehicles, machinery, and/or power tools.


Travel



  • Ability to travel to other course locations domestically and internationally, some weekend travel required. Must have valid driver's license and US Passport and be able to operate government vehicle in local. This would be up to 30% of the time.


Work Environment



  • This position will take place primarily in office, laboratory, and hospital settings. Hybrid capability. This job may extend beyond normal business hours, especially during peak training courses.


Compensation



  • The hourly pay range for this position is $35.48-$60.38. Actual hourly pay will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
