THE POSITION

The Department of Health is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join their amazing team in the Division of Administration, Finance, and Operations. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Administrative Assistant, you will be expected to handle a wide range of tasks and responsibilities, including but not limited to timekeeping, purchasing, human resources, and fiscal maintenance. As a part of your role, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of necessary office and medical supplies, ensuring that all office equipment is properly maintained, processing various business transactions, providing training to clerical staff, and conducting quality control checks to ensure that public health resources are being utilized effectively and distributed appropriately within the Northcentral District. You will be required to make independent decisions, prioritize tasks, and resolve minor issues to ensure that the bureau operates efficiently and follow departmental guidelines. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • The headquarters office will be determined by the selected candidate. The work location can be in any one of the Northcentral District's State Health Centers located in Bradford, Centre, Clinton, Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Potter, Snyder, Tioga, and Union counties.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to your assigned headquarters office.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
