Status: Temp - FT 30hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS



  • Must possess high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must have Arizona Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Must be able to pass Salvation Army Driver's Test Certification
  • Ability to work independently and show initiative
  • Required to successfully pass criminal background check
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds


RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Drive Box truck and pick up food from different stores (6 grocery stores) and other organizations
  • Separate donated food
  • Keep Box truck clean and in good repair
  • Help to keep pantry clean and neat, rotating stock on a regular basis
  • Help food pantry and Family Services maintain a clean and organized working area
  • Catalog all items received in the food pantry. This includes, but is not limited to: donations given through Gifts-In-
  • Kind, deliveries through United Food Bank, and donations through local community churches, schools and
  • organization
  • Help make food boxes and bags for clients according to family size and food availability
  • Help greet clients at food pantry window and give them the appropriately sized food box and other items they are to
  • receive
  • Help keep Salvation Army food service carts in good working order at all times
  • Help unload food deliveries with drivers ensuring all foods are weighed as required, as well as checking incoming orders for errors
  • Help keep all reach-in and walk-in freezers and coolers at proper temperature and maintain regular cleaning
  • schedules
  • Help keep records of all incoming food by dating the outside of the cases (or units) with the proper received date.
  • Complete all reporting documents required through TEFAP, FEMA, and United Food Bank
  • Help manage volunteers when pantry worker is absent
  • Assist food pantry worker as needed
  • Other driving duties during the holiday season
  • Other duties as assigned to assist with the function of the organization


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
