This position is assigned to the Ephrata Cloister, a four time American Alliance of Museums accredited historic site in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The Museum Educator 2 provides active leadership in the development and implementation of educational programs related to the site's mission, including but not limited to interpretive tours of a National Historic Landmark site, volunteer and staff training, workshops, classes, lectures, seminars, virtual programs, exhibits, special events, and historical demonstrations. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Each year, thousands of people from across the country and around the world visit Ephrata Cloister to experience the historic home of Pennsylvania's most prominent 18th-century religious community. This 28-acre National Historic Landmark features a modern visitor center, two cemeteries and 11 historically significant buildings, dating to the 18th and early 19th-centuries. As the Museum Educator 2, you will play an integral part in establishing the direction of Ephrata Cloister's overall educational and interpretive programming. You will lead the development and implementation of in-person and virtual educational programs for children and adults, including school programs, guided tours, lectures, workshops, community outreach initiatives and special events, ensuring they provide authentic and engaging experiences based in the current standards for museum education. As the Museum Educator 2, you will also periodically review site interpretation and make updates as needed, providing training to staff and volunteers. This position coordinates with the Curator and others on exhibits and furnishing plans, as well as on the interpretive plan for the site. Moreover, you will contribute to site committees as well as marketing and outreach efforts, including service on the site's Music Committee, service as editor of the site's quarterly newsletter and work to develop promotional materials such as brochures, posters, signs, media releases, and social media content. As the Museum Educator 2, you will represent Ephrata Cloister in the museum and educational community through educational roundtables and other similar programs and presentations and through attendance at meetings and conferences. Additionally, you will be expected to uphold industry best practices and adhere to PHMC Core Values, ensuring that Ephrata Cloister remains a dynamic, engaging, and welcoming institution for all visitors. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Wednesday - Sunday, with 60-minute lunch.
- Some evening and weekend work for meetings and special events will be required.
- Telework: Telework for this position is on an ad hoc basis only and subject to approval. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Ephrata.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Museum Educator 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which would afford the applicant the required knowledges, skills, and abilities
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires one or more years of experience in the following (experience must be comparable in scope and responsibility at a museum, historic site, park, or landmark with the mission of preserving and interpreting history):
- Utilizing digital and computer technology in developing and conducting "virtual" and in-person public programs.
- Developing marketing and promotional materials for print and digital use.
- This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license, which is not under suspension.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
