Salary Details A minimum of $2,596 per credit, in accordance with the AAUP-AFT contract, subject to variation based on advancement and length of service.

Posting Summary
The School of Social Work seeks dynamic Lecturers to teach in its BASW and MSW programs during the 2025 Summer Session May 1, 2025 - August 31, 2025.
Academic Year 2025/2026 (September 1, 2025, through December 22, 2025, for Fall Semester) and January 20, 2026, through May 15, 2026, for Spring Semester)

Successful applicant(s) will instruct undergraduate and/or graduate courses in social work practice, human behavior and the social environment, research, clinical social work practice, social welfare policy and/or management.

Courses will be offered in a range of modalities beyond traditional settings, including hybrid and online format. Teaching assignments are being offered in Camden, New Brunswick, Newark, as well as in the Fully Online and Blended programs, and Intensive Weekend.

Instructors are expected to attend orientation, provide course instruction, respond to student inquiries, and submit grades and assessment data as per contract.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
Persons interested in this position should possess an MSW from a Council on Social Work Education accredited program. Additionally, those who want to teach practice must have at least two years of post-master's social work degree practice experience. Those wanting to be considered for teaching in the Fully Online or Blended program should have previously taught online and preferably have used CANVAS.

Rutgers School of Social Work offers BA in Social Work, MSW, DSW and Ph.D. degrees to over 1,800 students across three campuses. Both the BA in Social Work and MSW programs are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
The School of Social Work was established in 1954 and is the fourth largest in the nation. The MSW program has two areas of specializations: clinical social work and management and policy and offers certificates in aging and health, addictions, interpersonal violence and trauma, child and adolescent well-being, and in working with Latina/o/x communities. Its Ph.D. program prepares students for careers in higher education, research, and social policy arenas and its DSW program readies senior social work practitioners for leadership in advanced clinical practice. The School's BA in Social Work program prepares students for generalist practice.
