The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division (JOID) provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group (ATAG) within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the DoD. These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)), DARPA, Joint Staff, and USINDOPACOM. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.

We have an immediate need for a Ground Test Analyst to provide onsite support out of Alexandria, VA.



Responsibilities

The DoD Test Resource Management Center (TRMC) plays a critical role in support of the warfighter. It is responsible for DoD Test and Evaluation (T&E) facilities and resources, ensuring Defense has the infrastructure required to research, develop, field, and maintain military systems. As a Ground Test Analyst, this position plays a critical role at TRMC, providing expert support and portfolio management. The candidate will coordinate with staff from the Hypersonics and Nuclear Modernization teams to identify "dual use" test capabilities and develop test capability requirements. Responsibilities will include preparing staff action papers, presenting briefs, responding to Congressional inquiries, and maintaining records management. Candidates will support a talented team of engineers and project managers to help achieve portfolio success.



Qualifications

Required:

    Bachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related scientific field
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience with test analysis
  • Able to perform portfolio management and staff officer responsibilities
  • Able to work fully onsite based on client needs
  • Active Top Secret clearance

Desired:

  • Advanced degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience supporting DoD T&E programs
  • Test expertise in the following areas:
    • Wind tunnels (supersonic or hypersonic)
    • Re-entry physics
    • Aerospace systems
    • Diagnostic radiography (system or subsystem)
    • Thermal materials
    • Rocket motors
    • Gas guns (for projectiles and impacts)
    • Space chambers (for sensors)
  • Familiar with Hypersonics and Nuclear Modernization
