Lead Travel Technician - Low Voltage (Nashville-Based | Nationwide Travel) Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dependable Lead Travel Technician to oversee and execute low-voltage installations on commercial job sites across the U.S. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with deep technical expertise in structured cabling and security systems. You'll lead a small team (1-3 techs), ensuring projects are completed on time, to spec, and with high quality.
Key Responsibilities: * Lead on-site installation of conduit, Cat6 cabling, security cameras, and low-voltage systems. * Terminate and test Cat6, coax, and fiber cabling. * Install and configure structured telecom cabling, fire alarm systems, access control, and surveillance hardware. * Interpret blueprints and build cable pathways that avoid obstructions and electrical conflicts. * Mount and test access points, cameras, access panels, and fire alarm hardware. * Build and install server racks and related infrastructure. * Ensure compliance with NEX low-voltage codes and safety standards. Required Tools & Support: * Must provide personal hand tools, cordless drills, and punch tools. * All consumables, specialized training, and access credentials will be provided. Qualifications: * Expert-level experience in low-voltage installations and team leadership. * Strong knowledge of Cat6, Cat5e, coaxial, and fiber cabling systems. * Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. * Familiarity with NEX codes and industry best practices. * Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of making field decisions. * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. * Reliable, punctual, and committed to high-quality workmanship. * Open to permanent placement after the contract period.
