What's the role? This Sr. Dev Ops Engineering role on the Actuarial Software Engineering team will focus on the partnership between engineering and risk management partners. To excel in the role, you will combine knowledge of implementation patterns across application and data platforms (Mainframe, Windows, Linux, Docker, AWS) with risk engineering practices to ensure the teams have effectively identified, mitigated, and documented risks in their software solutions. You will have primary responsibility for moving applications through risk assessments, working with application teams to gather evidence of controls and patterns. The Actuarial Software Engineering team at Northwestern Mutual is responsible for creating and improving systems that ensure the company can meet its financial obligations to its customers, employees, and field representatives. These systems are financial in nature, centered on insurance risk products and benefit plans, and based on the professional knowledge of the actuary. The applications are varied, generally are mathematical, and involve working in close partnerships with technical peers and actuarial business experts. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
