I. JOB OVERVIEW


Job Description Summary:

The Residential Education Case Manager will be responsible for coordinating and delivering support for undergraduate students experiencing emotional or material challenges that negatively impact their well-being and ability to achieve academic success. They will coordinate services and communication with the Residential Education and the CARE team. This position will be supervised by the Assistant Director, Residential Education Case Management, and will:

  • Manage and triage a caseload, including coordinating initial student outreach and intervention with the Residential Education team.
  • Provide one-on-one non-clinical counseling and guidance to students experiencing social, behavioral, or academic challenges. Guide students through challenges to help them feel confident in their choices to remain at the university, contributing to overall university retention goals.
  • Support students to promote a sense of belonging by encouraging their participation in campus events, student organizations, and residence hall activities.
  • Provide response and support to families, students, and guests with elevated concerns about their residential experiences.
  • Resolve issues at the point of need, appropriately communicate and share with others, including those who support in resolution and those impacted.
  • Document case management, maintain data, and provide reports regarding students receiving case management services. Serve as part of a 24/7 rotating on-call system to respond to urgent residential needs, campus emergencies, or other incidents in the residence halls. This includes writing incident reports, engaging in community/neighborhood walks, and escalating incidents as needed.
  • In collaboration with campus partners, develop outreach materials and training documents for Residential Education staff.
  • Provide advising support for 1-3 student organizations.


Perform other duties as assigned, including support for Division for Student Affairs wide projects and initiatives, including new student orientation, student success initiatives, and university events/traditions, as well as participating in and supporting special events and activities, and representing the unit/division at university-wide events. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:
This is a live-on position and requires you to reside in campus housing as a condition of employment and will require weekend and after-hours work.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse constituencies.
  • Evidence of organizational understanding and an ability to work collaboratively.
  • Experience in directing, organizing, and prioritizing workload to meet required deadlines and department objectives.
  • Skill in preparing comprehensive and in-depth analyses of complex, sensitive, and multifaceted issues, particularly under tight time constraints, is preferred.

Hiring Range $45,925.13 - $63,191.56
