Reporting to the IT Director - EHR Pharmacy, the IT Manager - Oncology Applications is responsible for managing the IT systems, applications, and products for oncology, transplant, genomics and research. The IT Manager utilizes their deep understanding of the medication-use process, oncology, related clinical knowledge, and technical expertise to collaborate with our strategic partners, develop an understanding of customer needs and incorporate feedback to offer valuable and innovative solutions.

Responsibilities
*Leads, plans, and coordinates IT application/product initiatives for oncology, research, genomics and transplant.
*Combines clinical experience with technical expertise to ensure electronic clinical tools within the EHR support clinical workflows, medication and patient safety, and provide standardization in patient care where possible
*Works with service line partners, program manager, and IT director to define the IT system strategy for the service line.
*Maintains the application/product backlog, continuously prioritizing based on service line/operational needs
*Ensures the product roadmap and product backlog are visible, clearly ordered, and actively maintained to ensure work is focused on achieving the established product vision and strategy.
*Performs continual assessment of available technologies and software to facilitate continuous improvements to meet operational goals.
*Monitors end user satisfaction, identifies opportunities, and drives changes for solutions.
*Ensures the products, applications and IT systems are well maintained, minimizing technical debt, to enable long-term stability of its services.
*Collaborates with IT Managers, Directors, Program Managers, etc. to align and coordinate the work of cross-functional teams in the delivery of high quality IT solutions.
*Works closely with subject matter experts, pharmacists, providers, and clinical users to understand opportunities to maximize the value of the IT solution or product
*Track/monitor outcomes related to product and IT advancements including medication and patient safety, productivity, efficiency, and usability
*Responsible for talent management, acquisition, development, mentoring, and performance management of direct reports
*Negotiates with vendors regarding terms, functionality, pricing and support for offered products while monitoring relations with vendors regarding future and on-going project status and problem resolution management
*Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and/or Standard Work Documents (SW) for development, testing, and implementation tasks and documentation.
*Regularly monitor and analyze the team's ongoing, sprint and increment performance metrics/KPIs and make internal adjustments when needed to optimize productivity and improve outcomes Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: N/A
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:
Must be certified in Epic module(s) appropriate to area of responsibility as determined by leadership if applicable.
Each project and exam as determined for the specific roles must be passed within three (3) attempts.
Successful Epic certification(s) completion required within 60 days of final training.
Maintain required Epic certification for appropriate role.
Experience REQUIRED:
Five (5) years' experience in relevant IT field and three years of leadership experience.
Experience PREFERRED:
Ten (10) years' experience in relevant IT field and five years of leadership experience.
Previous Epic experience in the training, build, and/or support of the Epic systems electronic health record suite preferred.
Healthcare experience desired.
Education/training REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or Engineering from an accredited program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Education/training PREFERRED:
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or Engineering from an accredited program.
Related certification.
