Learn more at bonterratech.com. As a Senior Software Architect, you'll drive design and implementation of our cloud-based, agentic software systems. This role is both deeply hands-on and highly strategic: you will write and review code, design critical infrastructure, and lead architectural decisions that shape the future of our technology. You'll guide our transition of existing systems to AWS while architecting new solutions purpose-built for the cloud. Your leadership will directly impact how we scale our systems and accelerate delivery. Finally, working in close partnership with the Chief Architect, you will help define and drive Bonterra's technical strategy across the company, leading from the front by being deeply hands-on with our most ambitious and transformative work. As we move from traditional SaaS to AI-first, agentic platforms, your leadership will shape not just what we build, but how we think, architect, and deliver breakthrough experiences for the social good sector. What You'll Do
Who You Are You are a seasoned technologist with deep architecture experience and a passion for applying emerging technologies to meaningful challenges. You know how to code yourself and can dig into large codebases. You're driven by clarity and simplicity in complex systems. You have the rare ability to zoom out and see the big picture while also diving deep into the low-level technical details needed to get there. You know how to make hard tradeoffs between speed and technical perfection, always grounded in what will deliver the most business value. You write and speak with precision, and you are always seeking the next transformative idea that will shape your craft and team. Finally, and most importantly,you know how to ship!

Compensation The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and in addition to benefits this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses/incentives, and equity. US Base Salary Range: $130,000 - $220,000 w/ 15% annual bonus Please note that the compensation range and benefits specified in this job posting is applicable to candidates based in the United States.
