Job Description

Summary

Under the general direction of the Director of Student Advocacy & Care, the Case Manager performs a variety of functions and responsibilities related to the delivery of non-clinical case management to students through outreach, advocacy, support, and helping students connect to university and community resources.

Case Management (75%)

  • Conducts one-on-one meetings with students to assess needs, provide support, and develop action plans
  • Coordinates care by connecting students with on- and off-campus resources
  • Monitors student progress and follows up regularly to ensure they are accessing and benefiting from available resources
  • Maintains detailed case notes and documentation that protect student privacy and are in compliance with institutional policies
  • Provides case updates and participate in new case assessments during weekly team meetings
  • Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of campus and community resources and makes appropriate referrals
  • Collaborates with faculty, staff, and other university departments to advocate for student needs and supportive environments

Outreach and Programming (20%)

  • Oversee facilitation of St. Louis City Housing Insecurity Pilot program
  • Develop and implement outreach and education efforts to better inform students of their resources
  • Represent Student Advocacy & Care and promote case management services at campus events such as Orientation, Involvement Jamboree, and resource fairs/events.

Administrative (5%)

  • Prepares regular reports and forms
  • Maintain Student Advocacy & Care website
  • Participates in professional development and training opportunities

Shift

This position is an on-campus position. This position will follow regular campus business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm, with weekend and eveninghours a few times across the year. This position may eligible for a hybrid schedule to include one day of remote work after a six month probationary period and dependent on team staffing and unit needs.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in social work
  • Two years of post-degree experience with case management, social work, or related field
  • Professional experience working in a university setting
  • Awareness of issues affecting today's college students and high-risk populations in higher education
Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $18.87 - $22.60
Grade: GGS- 008
