The Senior Director - Public Relations, drives planning, execution, and measurement of corporate public relations platform aimed to positively position the company and its subsidiaries while mitigating risk. Works closely with company and facility leadership, public affairs/policy team, legal team, human resources and other internal stakeholders to manage crises and develop responses as issues arise. Supports Vice President, Chief Marketing & Communications Officer in promoting the brand of the company and each of its affiliates through strategic thought leadership, news creation, effective issues management, and in influencing marketplace outcomes that drive advancement in industry and legislative practices.

  • Drives PR aspects of event orchestration to include groundbreakings, ribbon-cuttings and celebrations.
  • Oversees company's social media team responsible for social strategies, content development, channels and day-to-day operations.
  • Oversees Online Reputation (Google star ratings), managing the team and processes that support monitoring, response, testimonial consents, service recovery and reporting on this highly visible depiction of patient experience in the public domain.
  • Collaborates closely with Marketing and Communications counterparts to facilitate successful multichannel visibility for the company and its subsidiaries.

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing/Communications/Journalism or related field is required. Master's degree is preferred.

Minimum of 10+ years of experience in public relations, media relations, and/or corporate communications in corporate or agency setting.

Travel Requirements - 10% domestic US travel.

Qualifications

  • Provides guidance to company leaders and marketing directors at hospital facilities in their day-to-day media needs.
  • Works closely with company and facility leadership, public affairs/policy team, legal team, and other internal stakeholders to develop company responses as issues arise.
  • Develops relationships and oversees day-to-day media outreach, positioning company as an expert and resource on relevant topics, pitching key initiatives, and responding as needed to inquiries.
  • Promotes positive news to position the company and its affiliates.
  • Proactively protects the interests and reputation of the organization.
  • Contributes to development and ongoing nurturing of company thought leadership efforts.
  • Uses earned media vehicles to create brand differentiation.
  • Researches and drafts articles, bylines, op-eds, blog-posts, and speeches.
  • Oversees, drives, and coaches social media and online reputation management functions, with direct management of these teams.
  • Liaises with digital team, internal communications, advertising group, and other peers to develop integrated programs, leveraging online and offline channels to reach target audiences.
  • Identifies and orchestrates implementation of best practices across network.
  • Serves as company spokesperson, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/required.
