SOCIAL WORK PROFESSOR (Tenure Track, Asst./Assoc. Prof.) in the area of SOCIAL WORK POLICY

The Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University in New York, NY, seeks a tenure-track faculty member (rank commensurate with qualifications) for the MSW/PhD program.

Established in 1957, the Wurzweiler School of Social Work (WSSW) offers a "methods-based" curriculum and concentrations in social/clinical casework, social group work, and community social work/administration.

WSSW enjoys an international reputation for academic excellence within the larger academic community of Yeshiva University.



Position Responsibilities:




  • Teach social work policy courses at both the MSW and PhD levels
  • Student mentoring and advisement on MSW and PhD (dissertation) levels
  • Engage in ongoing scholarly research and publication
  • Participate in ongoing program assessment and curriculum development
  • Serve on program, school, and university committees



Experience & Educational Background:




  • A Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited social work program and a DSW or a Ph.D. in Social Work or a doctoral degree in a related field
  • Strong potential for excellence in teaching (classroom, asynchronous, and live- online), and an ability to teach Policy and Macro Practice in both MSW and PhD/DSW programs.
  • The candidate must articulate a clear and focused research agenda, along with plans for continued research and securing external funding.



Skills & Competencies:




  • University teaching experience in the area of Social Work Policy and Macro Practice
  • a record of scholarly publications and successful grant activity
  • demonstrated commitment to working with a thriving and diverse MSW/PhD student body,
  • faculty that values faculty governance and community partnerships.

Salary Range:



$70,000 - $105,000
