WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB:

The Salesforce Senior Developer will work closely with other developers to ensure all code aligns with architectural standards and design for the Humanitarian Services Group. As part of a collaborative team, you will be responsible for understanding business requirements, estimating level of effort (LOE), developing and maintaining custom solutions using Lightning Web Components (LWC), custom Apex Salesforce Flows, conducting code reviews, updating technical documentation, and writing unit test scenarios. This role requires deep expertise in the Salesforce platform, Service Cloud and Experience Cloud to support our program teams and portal development.

The Senior Developer will leverage advanced declarative and programmatic capabilities (Apex, LWC, Visualforce, Flows, etc.) of the Salesforce Platform and data modeling to develop complex business logic and interfaces. You will provide technical guidance, mentor junior developers, and lead team pods to deliver high-impact solutions that align with our mission-driven goals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility, adaptability to evolving business needs, and leadership in guiding team pods toward successful delivery of enhancement and run-and-maintain projects.

The work location for this exciting opportunity is virtual. The selected candidate will work 100% remotely from home and can be located anywhere in the United States working East coast hours. (9am - 5pm EST core business hours)

This position also requires the ability to work extended hours/on call support as needed to support any major outages, especially during hurricane season.

This is a fulltime/ permanent position and not available for C2C or C2H.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

* Design, develop and test Lightning Web Components (LWC) supporting accessibility and multi-language design, Lightning pages, responsive User Interfaces and Community Portals in Lightning Experience
* Develop custom Apex (classes, triggers, batch jobs) to implement custom business logic based on requirements
* Create and optimize Salesforce Flows
* Develop secure Salesforce Integrations with external systems using APIs or middleware like MuleSoft.
* Build and customize Force.com applications.
* Develop changes to codebase utilizing modern branching/version control patterns and processes and support deployment of changes across environments using CI/CD tools
* Adhere to Salesforce best practices, maintain comprehensive code documentation, and write/maintain test classes to ensure coverage for all custom development.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues or defects encountered during the development, testing, and delivery stages.
* Provide technical stewardship and solution steering for relevant team pod/initiative and actively participate in design and sprint planning sessions and all scrum events
* Estimate the level of effort for stories and/or epics based on business requirements and platform knowledge.
* Participate in and facilitate code/development reviews (PRs) to provide feedback and improvements
* Provide support and guidance for partner/contract developers as part of relevant team pod/initiative

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (required/minimum qualifications):
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Salesforce developer is required.
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
* Salesforce Platform Developer I certification is required.
* Hands on Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining Aura and Lightning Web Components
* Extensive development experience with custom Apex (Classes, Controllers, Triggers, batch jobs), Visualforce and Salesforce Flows
* General web development experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript for custom UI components
* Expertise in Service Cloud and Experience Cloud is preferred.
* Proven experience developing Salesforce integrations using APIs (REST/SOAP/Bulk, etc.) or middleware (MuleSoft)
* Proficiency with CI/CD Tools like GIT, Azure DevOps, etc. for source control, VS Code IDE and branching/merging strategies for conflict resolution.
* Deep understanding of the Salesforce product suite including Salesforce1, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud (Communities) and AppExchange solutions
* Demonstrated understanding of the architecture, capabilities and constraints of Salesforce applications required.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
* Strong professionalism, interpersonal, written/verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Experience leading small development teams or pods in an agile environment.

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (preferred qualifications):
* Salesforce Platform Developer II, Service Cloud Consultant, or Experience Cloud Consultant (preferred).

* Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

PAY INFORMATION:The annual salary range for this position is $125K - $136K. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role.Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed.
