Position Summary:

We are seeking a visionary and experienced Medical Director to lead clinical strategy and care delivery for our innovative virtual diabetes practice. This role is ideal for a board-certified physician with a passion for digital health, chronic disease management, and improving access to high-quality diabetes care through telemedicine.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Clinical Leadership & Oversight

    • Provide clinical leadership for all virtual diabetes care services.
    • Ensure adherence to evidence-based guidelines and best practices in diabetes management.
    • Supervise and support a multidisciplinary team of nurse practitioners, diabetes educators, and care coordinators.
    • Other responsibilities as determined by business needs.


  • Quality & Compliance

    • Develop and implement clinical protocols, quality assurance programs, and performance metrics.
    • Ensure compliance with state and federal telehealth regulations, HIPAA, and other relevant standards.
    • Lead initiatives for continuous quality improvement and patient safety.


  • Strategic Development

    • Collaborate with executive leadership to shape the clinical vision and growth strategy of the practice.


  • Patient Care & Consultation

    • Provide direct virtual consultations for complex diabetes cases as needed.
    • Serve as a clinical escalation point for providers and patients.


  • Education & Advocacy

    • Mentor clinical staff and contribute to ongoing training and professional development.
    • Represent the organization in external forums, conferences, and partnerships.

Required Qualifications:



  • M.D. or D.O. with active, unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
  • Board certification in Endocrinology, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine (with diabetes care experience)
  • Multiple state licensing (assistance provided for obtaining)
  • 5+ years of clinical experience
  • 2+ years in a clinical leadership role
  • Solid understanding of diabetes management, including insulin therapy, CGM, and lifestyle interventions
  • Proven excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Multiple state licenses, Texas
  • Experience in telemedicine or virtual care delivery
  • Familiarity with value-based care models and population health management
  • Proven passion for innovation in healthcare and digital health transformation

Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $xxx,xxx - $xxx,xxx. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
