Cox Enterprises is searching for a highly skilled Network Engineer II to join its Network Engineering team. This role reports directly to the Sr Manager of Network Engineering and will play a part in enhancing the organization's enterprise network capabilities. The primary responsibility of the position includes working with the planning, design, implementation, operation, and support of the LAN, WAN, data center, and cloud network infrastructure for CEI and subsidiary companies. The services provided over this infrastructure include internal/external data, voice, video, Internet, and public/private cloud access. Additionally, as a part of the CEI Network Engineering team serve as networking subject matter experts on Integrated Business Technologies (IBT) initiatives and are responsible for the development and maintenance of network technology diagrams, projects, standards, and procedural documents.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work in the planning, architecture, configuration and implementation of LAN/WAN/Data Center data, voice, video, cloud, and Internet network infrastructure
  • Provide level 3 afterhours on-call network infrastructure support
  • Respond to on demand incidents and requests within the predetermined SLA timeframe
  • Maintain internal network access control and network monitoring systems
  • Participate in assigned infrastructure change processes (planning, approval, and implementation)
  • Oversees planning and coordination with internal customers to determine requirements and provide subject matter expertise in the development of technical solutions
  • Participates in technical reviews involving network infrastructure road mapping, development, architecture, monitoring, and maintenance
  • Works to research on next generation network technologies and capabilities to optimize future network improvements and scalability
  • Ensures all network operations, documentation, and monitoring complies to CEI predetermined standard and procedures
  • Provide escalation support for various operational level groups
  • Collaborate with other internal and external groups in a project-based environment


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 2 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and up to 2 years' experience; or 14 years' experience in a related field
  • Certification: CCNP or equivalent working knowledge required
  • Requires 3 years of enterprise level network architecture and administration
  • 2+ years working experience with Cisco data center technologies including Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), Nexus fabric, VRF, Multi-Tenant, and Multi-Site Orchestration


Preferred

  • Advanced working experience with various AAA methods and protocols (ex: Radius, TACACS+, MAB, 802.1x, etc.). Experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine a plus.
  • Working experience with server, application, and software load balancing using F5 LTM and GTM platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Cisco DNA Center
  • Experience with various network management systems (Solarwinds, NetBrain, etc.) a plusExpected Knowledge
  • knowledge of software defined and cloud network implementation
  • knowledge of network infrastructure automation and scripting (Python, TCL, JSON, XML, Ansible, etc.)
  • working experience with Cisco data center technologies including Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), Nexus fabric, VRF, Multi-Tenant, and Multi-Site Orchestration working experience with Cisco Integrated and Advanced Services Routers along with various routing protocols and redistribution (ex: BGP, EIGRP, ISIS, OSPF, etc.)
  • working experience with Cisco IOS based platforms
  • working experience with Cisco Unified Wireless Network (CUWN) and IoT connectivity
  • knowledge of TCP/IP both IPv4 and IPv6


USD 79,400.00 - 119,000.00 per year

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $79,400.00 - $119,000.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Benefits:

The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members.
