Position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Gallatin, TN

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Engineering team, focusing on the
design and development of finishing systems, including paint booths, curing ovens, wash systems, and related
equipment. This role will be responsible for concept development, detailed mechanical design, documentation,
and support of manufacturing and commissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities:
* Design custom finishing systems and components such as spray booths, ovens, washers, enclosures, and fluid delivery systems using SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
* Develop and maintain detailed mechanical drawings, P&IDs, BOMs, and layout schematics.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (controls, electrical, project management, fabrication, installation) to ensure project requirements and schedules are met.
* Ensure all designs comply with industry codes, customer specifications, and safety standards (e.g., NFPA,OSHA, UL).
* Perform equipment sizing and selection (fans, pumps, heat exchangers, valves, etc.) based on application requirements.
* Support procurement, fabrication, and assembly by resolving design issues and updating documentation as needed.
* Participate in equipment testing, troubleshooting, installation, and commissioning on-site as required.
* Assist in the development and implementation of engineering standards and best practices.
* Maintain organized documentation for internal use and customer submittals.
* Other applicable duties, as required

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant combination of education and experience
* 5+ years' experience in mechanical engineer position; specifically including manufacturing industry experience in the design of highly automated machines and processes
* Experience in Finishing and/or Dispensing a plus, specifically (Liquid Painting, Powder Coating, and Dispensing Technology)
* Experienced in the design and troubleshooting of machinery equipment
* Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products
* Demonstrated ability to learn and apply technical and scientific product-related information.
* Knowledge of drafting techniques / engineering terminology and ability to create detailed mechanical drawings and fluid schematics.
* Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time, dependent on the project schedule
* Proven experience in utilizing skills to solve customer problems and assist sales staff
* Powerful sense of urgency and accountability

* Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
* Ability to understand written and oral English and be proficient with computer, email, spreadsheets and look up documents online
* Aptitude to read parts manuals, vendor catalogs, understand blueprints, and communicate technical information effectively
* Valid Driver's License
* Must be able to work in an industrial and manufacturing environment daily, as required
* Ability to work in environments that may include:
o Moving mechanical parts
o Fumes or airborne particles
o Chemicals and solvents
o Electrical equipment
