The Andrew Young School of Policy Studies (AYSPS) Dean's Office seeks to hire a College/Division Human Resources (HR) Coordinator to provide support to the College HR Officer and all HR functions for the area. The scope of responsibility will include these specific duties, but is not limited to the following:

Coordinates/manages the hiring, payroll, and HR functions for the College's Graduate Assistants, Part-Time Instructors, Student Assistants, Temporary Staff, and Adjuncts with such duties including:



  • Inputs payment data in the PPGRA system & resolves any problems related to payroll
  • Collaborates with the Office of Academic Assistance and departments regarding tuition waivers
  • Monitors information and verifies records such as transcripts
  • Maintains personnel files and a database; ensures all new hire paperwork completed & to payroll in required deadlines
  • Communicates relevant policies and procedures to centers and departments as necessary and provides training and support in the hiring process
  • Initiates/approves Personnel Action Forms for graduate assistants, part-time instructors, student assistants, adjuncts, and temporary employees



Assists the College Human Resources Officer with various administrative and clerical duties relating to:



  • Faculty Recruitment: (making files, labels, copies, scanning, drafting forms for signature, records of current searches, initiating background checks, file completion and close out).
  • Promotion and tenure process including pre, post and NTT reviews: (making files, labels, ensuring binders are received and delivered, copies, scanning, admin assistance with Sharepoint folders).
  • Annual faculty and staff contract/salary letters (verifying accuracy w/ CHRO; disperse & collect; enter information into database).
  • Annual faculty and staff performance evaluation process: (verifying signatures & ensuring CHRO has read; collect, copy and forward to HR/Records; enter information into database).
  • Staff hiring: (back up entry initiator in Taleo & SharePoint; make and ensure files complete for all new hires; all appropriate documents printed from Taleo).
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date lists for all employees (active and inactive).
  • Respond to departmental inquiries as appropriate.
  • Ensure HR forms, policies, etc. are up to date and placed on our AYS webpage.
  • Attend appropriate HR related meetings to stay abreast of University policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate electronic AYSPS directory to ensure information on position, titles, and contact is correct.
  • P-Card Coordinator for the Dean's Office, Office of Academic Assistance, and Career Services.
  • Manages Scholarship Coordination for the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.


Preferred Requirements:



  • Previous experience associated with higher education/academic office environment
  • Direct HR experience.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft, Taleo, and other HRIS systems.
  • Excellent Verbal and Written communications.
  • Highly proficient utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational acumen and proclivity for attention to details.
  • Able to multi-task, proactive with independent decision making.
  • Ability to think critically about issues and identify solutions.
  • A self-starter, quick learner with an awareness to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships.
  • Exhibit a willingness to learn new applications and utilize technological solutions in approaching tasks.
