Mechanical Technician

Join Staffmark's team as a Mechanical Technician responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and breakdown analysis on advanced production equipment in Tolleson, AZ. You'll upgrade production lines, oversee outside contractors, manage package changeovers, and ensure compliance with GMP, safety, and audit standards - all while working independently with minimal supervision.

Pay: $34.00 - $36.00/hr

Shifts: 7 AM - 7 PM or 7 PM - 7 AM | Work schedule: 2 days off, then 3 days on

Responsibilities:

• Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on sophisticated production machinery
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical breakdowns, including conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and compressors
• Review and apply product manuals, schematics, and mechanical drawings
• Direct outside contractors and manage equipment upgrades
• Change production lines for packaging transitions
• Document work schedules and completed tasks
• Enforce safety and quality standards (GMP, audits)

Qualifications:

• Passed technical assessment on job-critical maintenance skills
• Strong experience with electrical systems (starters, relays, VFDs), mechanical systems (gearboxes, motors, seals), pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, refrigeration/ammonia systems, and PLCs
• Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnostics
• Experience with computerized preventative maintenance programs
• Comfortable working in a team-oriented environment
