What Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) contributes to Cardinal Health

Practice Operations Management oversees the business and administrative operations of a medical practice.

Revenue Cycle Management manages a team focused on a series of clinical and administrative processes that healthcare providers utilize to capture, bill, and collect patient service revenue. The revenue cycle shadows the entire patient care journey and begins with patient appointment scheduling and ends when the patients account balance is zero. Directly supporting cCare, the largest private oncology practice in California, our experienced revenue cycle management specialists simplify and optimize the practices revenue cycle, from prior authorization through billing and collections.

The Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Integrations Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth onboarding and operational integration of new oncology clinical practices into the MSOs centralized revenue cycle framework. This role is responsible for managing all phases of the RCM integration process, from due diligence and planning through execution, post-go-live support, and stabilization. The ideal candidate brings deep project management expertise, strong communication skills, and proven experience navigating the complexities of healthcare practice integration, particularly in oncology. This position also serves as a key facilitator of technical integration across revenue cycle systems, ensuring interoperability between electronic medical records (EMR), radiology information systems (RIS), patient engagement platforms, and billing software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the end-to-end RCM integration of new clinical practices into the MSO, including intake, assessment, gap analysis, planning, and execution.
  • Serve as primary RCM liaison between the MSO and new partner practices, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the integration process.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans including timelines, dependencies, milestones, and resource requirements across cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, EHR/PM systems, coding, billing, compliance).
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders in Clinical Operations, Patient Access, Finance, and Compliance to ensure readiness and continuity across front-, mid-, and back-end RCM processes.
  • Oversee the mapping and transition of revenue cycle workflows, including eligibility and benefits, authorizations, charge capture, claim submission, and payment posting.
  • Identify risks and roadblocks early; troubleshoot issues and develop mitigation strategies in real time.
  • Prepare and deliver clear documentation, status reports, executive summaries, and training materials to support internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor key performance indicators post-integration to ensure revenue cycle performance is stabilized and optimized.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the MSOs integration playbook, SOPs, and knowledge base.

Qualifications

  • 8-12 years of experience, preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in revenue cycle operations within a healthcare setting, preferably with an MSO or large medical group.
  • 3+ years of direct project management experience integrating physician practices into centralized operational frameworks; oncology experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in front-to-back revenue cycle workflows and systems (EHR/PM platforms, clearinghouses, billing rules).
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Asana, MS Project).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with oncology coding, billing, and reimbursement models is a plus.

PMP or other project management certification.

  • Experience with oncology-specific EHR and billing platforms (e.g., Flatiron, ARIA, OncoEMR).
  • Proven track record leading cross-functional teams through operational change.
  • Ability to translate technical RCM knowledge into actionable guidance for clinical and administrative teams.
  • Hybrid or remote work may be available depending on location.
