What to Expect
We are looking for an experienced Manager to lead the Collision Tactical Response Team, overseeing specialized roles including Automotive Painters, Collision Estimators, and Collision Repair Technicians. The team quickly deploys to support factory initiatives, minimize field impact, assist high backlog locations, and aid new location openings. This position is home-based through a local Tesla collision center but requires regular travel to support other centers and factory operations. This position can be based in Austin, TX or any Tesla Collision Center.
What You'll Do
- Lead, plan, and implement mission-based deployments for the Collision Tactical Response Team
- Partner with Regional, Site and Factory Managers to assess and address support needs
- Standardize processes, improve resource management, and develop operational KPIs and reporting
- Oversee technical troubleshooting, repair estimates, and painting processes across team roles
- Support team members in a fast-paced environment, ensuring quality and efficiency
- Generate weekly reports on team activities, progress, and findings
- Ensure compliance with safety rules, hazardous waste guidelines, and operational standards
What You'll Bring
- Vocational Certificate in Collision Repair preferred; 10+ years of collision experience, 1-3 years of direct people management experience in collision repair. Tesla experience preferred
- Minimum 50% travel per year up to 3 weeks consecutive, with ability to travel nationally and internationally
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams through complex technical repair and estimation challenges
- Strong integration skills with multiple teams, maintaining professional relationships and integrity
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, cloud applications), and confidentiality
- Valid driver's license, insurable
- Ability to work independently, and willingness to perform additional duties as needed
