Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) -Wound Care

Inova Wound Care is looking for a dedicated LPN to join the team. This role will be part-time, Monday- Friday, day shift hours 8:30am - 5:00 pm. Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates.

Job location: Inova Mount Vernon Hospital

Schedule: M-F: 8:30am - 5:00 pm. 5 shifts per pay period

The LPN Inpatient utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to patients whose care requirements are routine and standardized with predictable outcomes. Practices under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse while assisting the healthcare team to achieve desired patient outcomes.

Job Responsibilities


  • Provides direct patient care utilizing the nursing process under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse.
  • Reviews diagnostic test results and reports abnormal results and changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse, physician and appropriate healthcare team members in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with the Registered Nurse on the execution of patient plans.
  • Assists with patient education and discharge planning under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • Evaluates and maintains the patient care environment to promote safety.
  • Collaborates with the Registered Nurse and healthcare team to advocate for the clinical, emotional, ethical, spiritual and cultural needs of patients.
  • Participates as appropriate in unit based quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Certification - Basic Life Support upon start

Licensure - Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Licensed Practical Nurse upon start

Experience - None Required

Education - Vocational / Technical Nursing Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse school.

Preferred Qualifications: At least 1 year of wound care experience, home care, skilled nursing facility experience.
