Pay Rate: $20.70/hour

Shift Timing (Day/ Evening/ Night): First shift 5:15 am - 3:45 Shift Hours (8 Hours/ 10 Hours / 12 Hours): 9 hours a day, including a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks.

Job Description:

  • The Slicer Operator sets up and operates the Cashin Edge in a manner that will keep the line supplied with meat. To help minimize weight giveaway, you must monitor the check weigher to make adjustments as the need arises. Quality inspections are to be done to identify and reduce rejects. There will be some troubleshooting required!


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Fully operate the Cashin Edge using the control panel and proper lifting techniques to remove slabs from the racks, cutting excess (too wide), loading, and conducting rechop inspections.
  • Ensure proper board placement and troubleshoot when needed.
  • Achieving #1 yield standards.
  • Responsible for all GMP practices and sanitizing of work area during operations.
  • Learning how to pack and prevent rework at an efficient rate in order to complete the breakout routine.
  • Employee may be required to lift up to fifty pounds and use a knife repetitively.
  • Become certified on operating Cashin Edge independently.
  • Retain knowledge from the certification course to be an active participant in the QCD team.
  • Understands the client's management system, Perform Centerlines on equipment, Perform CIL, Update Performance boards hourly.
  • Must report out Top losses, quality, and safety issues from previous shift and current shift in the level 1 meeting, as well as report out the win for that day.
  • Follow the escalation process, Understand 5's process, 100% engagement, conduct proper shift hand off for the next shift, understands daily problem handling process, fill out a defect handling card.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot machinery and use mechanical tools to perform basis mechanical tasks; fill out all client's management system and operational forms completely and legibly; open and document unplanned downtime in the OEE system; complete the end of shift reconciliation paperwork for their lines daily; understand and perform maintenance tasks on their lines.

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • This position is considered a Manufacturing plant environment with heavy machinery and equipment Additionally, this role requires a minimum of 40 hours per week and overtime as needed. Must have the flexibility to adjust the shift schedule to work with employees on other shifts. (Work is indoors, Primary production floor is wet, Secondary locations are occasionally wet, seasonal climate).
  • Must wear the following PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): (bump cap/hard hat, safety glasses, slip resistant safety shoes, hair net and ear plugs).
