The Role

The Senior Manager of Cloud Engineering leads enterprise-wide infrastructure modernization by scaling automation, championing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and cultivating high-performing platform engineering teams. This role is pivotal in accelerating cloud adoption and aligning infrastructure strategy with business outcomes. They will champion modern infrastructure practices through people development, automation innovation, and strategic technical partnerships to accelerate cloud adoption and infrastructure modernization initiatives.

The Main Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership
*Define and drive cloud strategy and transformation roadmap in partnership with senior leadership
*Establish organizational standards, governance frameworks, and best practices for cloud adoption
*Lead strategic planning and resource allocation across multiple teams and initiatives
*Influence senior leadership on technology investments and strategic priorities
*Build consensus across teams and drive organizational change management
Team Development
*Build, coach, and develop a diverse team of engineering managers and senior individual contributors
*Drive career growth through mentorship, feedback, and creation of development opportunities
*Attract and retain top talent while developing succession plans for key roles
Technical Oversight
*Oversee architectural decisions and technical direction across multiple strategic initiatives
*Guide teams in designing and implementing scalable, cost-effective cloud solutions
*Drive standardization and optimization of cloud infrastructure practices
Operational Excellence
*Establish metrics and KPIs to measure team health, technical quality, and business impact
*Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices and delivery processes
*Manage budgets and resource allocation across multiple teams
*Balance tactical execution with strategic long-term initiatives

What We Look For in a Candidate

*Proven expertise in AWS, Azure, and GCP with a focus on multi-cloud architecture
*Bachelors degree or equivalent education and experience.Typically 5-7 years related experience and 2+ years previous manager level leadership experience preferred.
* Advanced proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions)
*Strong background in cloud-native design, container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and observability (Prometheus, Grafana)
*Deep understanding of cloud security, compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO), and cost governance
*Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Go, Java)
*Experience with cloud networking and hybrid connectivity
*Knowledge of multiple public cloud providers' well-architected frameworks
*CSP certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect) preferred

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges:

$129,639 - $172,852 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
$136,121 - $181,494 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
$142,603 - $190,137 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
