Overview

At CAES Lansdale we pioneer the future and underpin many of the world's most critical defense missions. Operations takes raw sheet metals and electronic componentry (wizardry, really) apply artisanship and manufacturing process methods, to machine, assemble, paint, test and tune challenging builds, including microelectronics that require cleanroom and microscope skills. Manufacturing and industrial engineers support the output through problem solving. Expeditors, planners and the shipping crew ensure the flow of product across our two-shift, ISO-certified operation.

This Senior Supervisor position oversees the activities associated with the planning, development and implementation of procedures for the testing and evaluation of standard and special devices. Specifies test to be performed, compiles data, and makes recommendations for changes required in testing equipment procedures, manufacturing processes, new testing requirements and/or design of testing equipment. Recommends the purchase of test equipment


Responsibilities

  • Provides direct supervision to professional individual contributors according to established policies and management guidance
  • Acts as advisor to unit and may be actively involved, as required, to meet schedules and resolve problems
  • Sets goals and objectives for team and the process by which to meet goals
  • Conducts performance reviews bi-annually
  • Maintains Key performance Indicators to track and improve team performance

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Intermediate skill with MS Excel; set up and formatting of spreadsheets, basic graphics and charts, maintaining large Excel spreadsheets
  • Certified training in lean manufacturing and root cause analysis, with intermediate knowledge of the RCCA toolset.
  • Demonstrated results through performance management - measuring and positively driving improvement on business KPIs
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred:

  • Preference given to those in Aerospace or Defense Industry
  • Active security clearance strongly preferred
  • 4+ years' experience supervising a large size group of support workers, technicians, and machinists
  • Production planning background, including ERP and shop floor software

Salary Range: Sr. Supervisor Manufacturing: $78,048.26 - $117,072.39 Annually (Lansdale). Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
