They thrive on collaboration, working closely with senior faculty as well as frontline fundraisers in shaping scientific proposals, concept papers, and stewardship materials.
Typical responsibilities include (and are not limited to):
  • Writing and editing stewardship reports, proposals, and concept papers in partnership with scientists, frontline fundraisers, the Director of Development - Development Communications, and other team members.
  • Overseeing writing, editing, and production timelines of stewardship reports; developing and executing other stewardship materials, including videos.
  • Conceptualizing and producing materials needed for events, including talking points.
  • Assisting with other projects as needed or assigned by the manager.
Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in the life sciences, with at least eight years of experience in science or medical writing, with a strong preference for experience in development writing.
  • Extraordinary writing skills, with a proven track record of being able to produce clear, compelling, and accurate copy quickly.
  • Strong work ethic and track record as a team player.
  • Editing experience-including line-editing, copy-editing, and proofreading-and knowledge of the AP Style Guide are major pluses.
  • Diplomatic skills and sense of humor.
All applications require a cover letter and recent writing samples.
