Posting Summary |
Under the supervision of the Director for the Office of International Students and Global Programs, the Program Coordinator will effectively administer the Rutgers-Camden study abroad programs: Faculty-led Learning Abroad, Experiential Learning, US Study Away programs, and newly developing Study Abroad Exchange programs. The Program Coordinator will provide detailed guidance to students seeking participation in Rutgers Camden programs and Rutgers system-wide programs while providing administrative support to Rutgers Camden faculty in the development and implementation phases of faculty-led programs. The position also assists faculty in the budgetary and development phases, recruitment of program participants, in-country and travel logistics, while providing marketing and promotional outreach to students across the campus.
The Program Coordinator will provide effective advising, outreach, and administrative support to prospective and current Rutgers Camden students seeking or on study abroad programs. The Program Coordinator will work closely with students throughout all phases of the study abroad process which includes point of inquiry, application, visa preparation, advising, pre-departure orientation, and administrative functions within the Terra Dotta software platform. The Program Coordinator will co-develop and implement the annual study abroad fair, international education week events, study abroad workshops, and related events. The position will also work with the Rutgers Risk Management office, liaising effectively across the campus with departments (i.e., registrar, student accounts, budget & finance, procurement). ensure students are enrolled in student health insurance, the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (
STEP). The position also manages the Passport Initiative program, visits classrooms to promote study abroad, and proactively participates in Discover Rutgers Days, New Student Orientations, Raptor Welcome, and may serve on related committees. Participation in
NAFSA and related professional development events and conferences is expected. The Program Coordinator provides administrative and logistical support to faculty as they create and lead programs while serving as a subject matter specialist and resource to the university community on all matters of study abroad. The position also generates periodic and annual study abroad reports, student surveys, and completes the
IIE Open Doors annual report.
Study Abroad is an integral pillar of the Rutgers Camden strategic plan with a major emphasis on international initiatives under the Chancellor. Rutgers Camden is committed to providing and expanding its high quality, diverse, accessible, and affordable study abroad programs that are transformative with the goal of increasing outbound program participation significantly. The position works within a small team of the Office of International Students. The campus currently spends more than 200 students annually on study abroad programs. |

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
