A postdoctoral scholar position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Chelsie Brewer. The scholar will have the opportunity to conduct basic and translationally relevant pain research in the Department of Anesthesiology. The Brewer laboratory currently focuses on the downstream effects of inflammation and injury on the pain-transmitting circuits of the nervous system, with a specific interest in knee osteoarthritis. This work involves electrophysiology, calcium imaging, in situ hybridization, immunohistochemistry, neural circuit tracing, and behavioral analysis. The laboratory aims to use mouse models and human tissues in culture to determine how injury and disease affect the function and connectivity of peripheral and central neurons. Essential Functions
