Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Loma Linda University Health is seeking an accomplished and visionary leader to serve as our next Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). As an Officer of the organization and a trusted advisor to the President and CEO, the CHRO will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our workforce and driving a culture that reflects our mission and values. This executive leader will be responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive human resources strategy that supports organizational growth, scalability, and long-term success in a dynamic academic healthcare environment. Partnering closely with senior leadership and the Board, the CHRO will provide strategic direction, foster innovation, and champion initiatives that attract, develop, and retain top talent across the system. The ideal candidate will bring both strategic vision and hands-on leadership, ensuring that our people strategies are aligned with the needs of the organization while creating an environment where employees can thrive. Education and Experience: The successful candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, or a related field (master's degree preferred) and bring a proven track record of leadership in human resources. A minimum of 15 years of progressive HR management experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, is required. Member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church required. Experience within an academic healthcare environment is strongly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate deep knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices, along with exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. The ideal leader will be a strategic thinker and collaborative partner, able to work effectively with senior leadership, the Board, and stakeholders across the organization to advance the mission and culture of Loma Linda University Health. Knowledge and Skills: Able to read; write and speak with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word Excel, Power Point, Access; operate and troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments; compose written material; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position. |
