Your role at Vantive

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Manager to join our Global Tax Compliance & Reporting team. Reporting to the Global Compliance and Reporting Director, this role will support the preparation and review of U.S. federal and state income tax filings, manage global tax provision processes under ASC 740, and support strategic tax initiatives across jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical tax knowledge, leadership capabilities, and a passion for process improvement and technology integration.

What you'll be doing

Tax Provision

  • Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual global income tax provisions under ASC 740, including footnotes.

  • Prepare and review tax accounting journal entries, including return-to-accrual adjustments and audit settlements.

  • Support the global annual effective tax rate (AETR) and cash tax forecasting processes.

  • Analyze current and deferred tax positions, including FIN 48 reserves and valuation allowances.

  • Review international tax provisions in coordination with non-U.S. tax teams and external advisors.

  • Maintain documentation for uncertain tax positions (UTPs) and support SOX compliance for tax reporting.

Tax Compliance

  • Assist with the review of book-to-tax adjustments for U.S. federal consolidated income tax returns.

  • Review state apportionment schedules and modifications for accurate state corporate income tax filings.

  • Manage the preparation and review of components of the U.S. federal and state income tax returns.

  • Coordinate with external service providers and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate tax filings.

  • Calculate and manage quarterly federal and state estimated tax payments.

  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess potential impacts on compliance and reporting.

Technology and Process Improvement

  • Leverage OneSource Income Tax, OneSource Tax Provision, Alteryx, and AI tools to enhance productivity.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining tax-related policies and procedures.

  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and accounting standards and assess their impact.

Team Leadership

  • Mentor and guide junior tax staff, providing technical support and career development.

  • Assist in managing workload distribution and project timelines within the tax compliance and reporting team.

Other

  • Researching federal, state, and local taxation issues.

  • Stay abreast of federal and state legislative changes that may impact tax filings and tax provision computation.

  • Perform modelling of tax reform/business changes and related impact on federal and state taxes.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • CPA or advanced degree in Taxation preferred.

  • 5+ years of relevant tax compliance and provision experience, with either a public accounting firm or in-house tax department.

  • Extensive background in U.S. federal and state tax compliance and ASC 740 required.

  • Must have experience with OneSource tax solutions. ERP systems knowledge (JDE, FCCS, Planful) is a plus.

  • Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (i.e., Excel, Words, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Proficiency in workflow tools such as Alteryx and Power BI is a plus.

  • Self-starter who takes initiative while seeking appropriate guidance.

  • Strong accounting, analytical, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with Tax, Finance, Accounting and other departments in the U.S. and other countries

  • Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.

We understand compensation is a principal factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Vantive, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $112,000 - $160,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
