Job Title:Manufacturing Engineering Summer Intern

Job Summary:

We are looking for a driven and hands-on Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our team for the summer. This role provides the opportunity to gain real-world experience in a production environment, supporting process improvements, troubleshooting manufacturing challenges, and optimizing production workflows. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and contribute to efficiency, quality, and safety initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in evaluating, developing, and improving manufacturing processes to increase productivity and reduce waste.
  • Support data collection and analysis related to production efficiency, downtime, and quality.
  • Help design and implement tools, fixtures, or process modifications.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for production issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including quality, maintenance, and operations.
  • Contribute to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Document procedures, work instructions, and process changes.

Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Completion of at least 1year of relevant coursework.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to work in a hands-on shop floor environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional):

  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related methodologies.
  • Experience with ERP systems or manufacturing data platforms.
  • Prior internship or project experience in a production or engineering setting.
