General Information: The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at James Madison University invites applications for one tenure-track position in statistics at the assistant or associate professor level to begin in August 2026. We are particularly interested in candidates with interests or expertise in statistics with connections to data science and interdisciplinary research. Duties and Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be committed to engage undergraduate teaching of students of all backgrounds, developing or continuing a research program, preferably involving undergraduate students, and contributing to the department through service appropriate to their career stage. The teaching load is approximately 9 contact hours per semester, which generally involves two course preparations including introductory statistics and an upper-level course based on faculty interest and department need. The results of scholarly interests will be disseminated in the form of peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations. Appropriate departmental, college and/or university service will be based on interest and need. Qualifications: * A Ph.D. in statistics or a closely related field by August 2026.
