What you'll do

AlixPartners is looking for a highly motivated Information Security professional to fulfill the Infrastructure Network Senior Engineer role for our corporate IT Department. In this essential role on AlixPartners' Corporate Services team, you will develop and maintain the high-level design plan for the overall logistical and technical IT security architecture including, providing technical leadership, and consulting across the organization and gaining commitment to initiate and participate in projects for implementing these plans. In addition, the candidate will provide support for our next generation firewalls, IPS, VPN, and 2 Factor Authentication.

The IT Infrastructure Network Senior Engineer is s full-time role with a preferred location of Southfield, Michigan but open to one of our other U.S. office locations (Dallas, Chicago, New York, Boston, Houston, Washington, D.C.). Paid relocation is not available.



  • Collaborate with the Network Services Team to deliver business critical projects and maintain high levels of service, supporting 30 core sites globally
  • Maintain relationships with the IT Organization, vendors, and consultants to ensure that network standards and deliverables are met and problems resolved
  • Audit, test, document, implement and support global network technologies; conduct routine hardware and software audits of all supported systems to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, procedures, and requirements
  • Participate in the planning, configuration, implementation, and support of new network environments (new office location, existing office relocations and/or expansions, refresh of legacy environment, integration of acquisition company network)
  • Provide technical input / support for engineering network security solutions based on recognized standards and best practices
  • Configure production-impacting routing, switching, wireless, and firewall changes, as necessary
  • Test and turn up WAN circuits
  • Ensure that deliverables are produced within the planned budget and timeframe
  • Perform required operational maintenance and troubleshooting of supported systems
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, development, exercises, and actual events
  • Evaluate and test software patches and updates supplied by vendors prior to installation
  • Maintain proper change management documentation for all hardware and software modifications
  • Troubleshoot and manage calls/tickets escalated from the Help Desk
  • Work with the Security Team to create and maintain a secure infrastructure
  • Ensure all IT equipment complies with industry and regulatory standards
  • Participate in weekly on-call rotation and monthly maintenance windows, as applicable

What you'll need



  • Minimum four (4) years of network security engineering experience
  • CCNA (preferred), CCNP (preferred)
  • CNSE - Palo Alto Network's Certified Network Security Engineer is a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is preferred; work experience and background may be considered in lieu of formal education
  • Capacity to successfully prioritize and manage multiple and simultaneous requests from start to finish; Project management experience is a plus
  • Excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills in English with the ability to interact with clients, staff, and management teams at all levels
  • Team player with a professional, business-focused attitude
  • Extensive knowledge of Cisco Catalyst switches and Cisco Nexus switches
  • Experience with Meraki Dashboard and access points, Palo Alto firewalls and related technologies
  • Experience with the design, provisioning, and troubleshooting of WAN/LAN technologies and data circuits
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting solutions
  • Some global travel required
  • Willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and as unique projects/needs arise.
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.

The salary range for this role takes into account a number of factors and is between $110,000/annually - $125,000/annually with potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus
