Job Duties:
This position will function and serve as shift manager for the following Memorial Union restaurants on the UW Madison campus: Strada, Daily Scoop, Terrace BBQ Stand and Lakeview Lounge. Job duties include: oversee quality food preparation, presentation, and customer service; guide and direct staff; oversee training and development of part-time staff. Our organization, the Wisconsin Union, is the social heart of UW-Madison, providing events, facilities, and activities for students, staff, faculty, thousands of Wisconsin Union members, and visitors. The Union also provides hands-on leadership experiences for hundreds of UW-Madison students. Schedule: This position is scheduled to work a combination of days, nights and weekends, with 2 days off in a row. Operational and work schedules will be closely aligned with the services and customer needs of our units. As a result, work schedules will be adjusted during specific times of the year to meet demand. Summer is our busiest season. Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds occasionally needed; Ability to work outside in inclement weather needed. Certifications: ServSafe Certification Required Ability to produce or attain within 6 months of hire Valid Bartender License Required Ability to produce or attain within 6 months of hire Key Job Responsibilities:
