Overview

Join our team as Head of AI Enablement and Automation and play a pivotal role in driving artificial intelligence and automation initiatives across our diversified real estate portfolio. You will collaborate with key internal stakeholders across Acquisitions, Asset Management, Property Operations, Finance, and Investor Relations to develop and deploy effective AI models and automation solutions that enhance operational efficiency, improve decision-making, and drive business growth across all asset classes including office, industrial, retail, medical office, multifamily, senior living, and hotels.

Your responsibilities will include overseeing the design and implementation of AI agents for specific business processes, leading the integration of AI solutions into enterprise platforms, and ensuring seamless connectivity across our technology ecosystem. You will serve as the bridge between our technology teams and business units, advocating for AI adoption, educating stakeholders on its benefits, and addressing concerns while maintaining the highest standards of responsible AI usage and compliance.



Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and AI Strategy

    Develop and execute a comprehensive AI and automation strategy aligned with business objectives across all functional areas and real estate asset classes.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize and implement AI use cases that deliver measurable business value.
  • Establish AI governance frameworks, ethical guidelines and responsible usage policies to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Partner with executive leadership to integrate AI initiatives into long-term strategic planning.
  • Monitor AI performance metrics, address biases and maintain transparency in AI-enabled processes across the organization

AI Platform Development and Implementation

  • In partnership with the Software Development team, oversee the design, development and deployment of AI agents and machine learning models for specific business processes.
  • Lead the integration of AI solutions into existing enterprise platforms, ensuring seamless connectivity and functionality.
  • Build and maintain scalable AI infrastructure and data pipelines to support real estate operations across multiple asset classes.
  • Own and govern the enterprise data platform, ensuring data quality, accessibility, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure AI systems meet security, compliance and performance requirements
  • Establish best practices for AI model training, optimization, and continuous improvement

Stakeholder Engagement and Change Management

  • Facilitate communication between AI/technology teams and business units across all functional areas.
  • Advocate for AI adoption throughout the organization, educating stakeholders on benefits and addressing concerns or misconceptions.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to upskill teams on AI tools and automation platforms.
  • Manage change initiatives related to AI implementation, ensuring smooth transitions and user adoption.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and risk management teams to address AI-related regulatory and ethical considerations.

Team Leadership and Talent Development

  • Build, lead and mentor a high-performing team of AI and data engineers, data scientists, automation specialists, and technical experts.
  • Establish hiring strategies to attract top AI and automation talent in the real estate technology space.
  • Create professional development programs and career progression paths for team members.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning and responsible AI development.
  • Manage team performance, conduct regular reviews and provide coaching and feedback.

Technology Integration and Vendor Management

  • Evaluate, select and manage relationships with AI technology vendors and service providers.
  • Oversee integration of third-party AI tools and platforms with existing real estate management systems.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage budgets for AI technology investments and implementations.
  • Ensure interoperability between AI solutions and existing property management, financial and operational systems.
  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies and assess their potential application to real estate operations.

Performance Measurement and Reporting

  • Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness and ROI of AI and automation initiatives.
  • Generate regular reports on AI performance, cost savings and business impact for executive leadership.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and continuous improvement assessments.
  • Track and report on AI adoption rates, user satisfaction and operational efficiency gains.
  • Develop business cases and ROI analyses for new AI investment opportunities.


Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in AI, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Data Science or related field required. MBA or real estate/finance degree a plus.
  • Experience: 8-10 years in leadership roles with 5+ years managing technical teams and enterprise AI implementations. Real estate or asset management experience preferred.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of Generative AI models, ML algorithms, NLP, computer vision and predictive analytics. Proficiency in Python, R, SQL. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and enterprise system integration.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of real estate operations across all asset classes, financial analysis, property valuation and market dynamics. Familiarity with real estate technology platforms such as Yardi, Argus, VTS, Funnel CRM.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive organizational change and communicate complex AI concepts to all stakeholder levels. Strong strategic thinking and project management capabilities.
  • Personal Qualities: Innovative mindset, collaborative approach, ethical foundation for responsible AI development and commitment to continuous learning and measurable business results.
