Ready to make a lasting impact in an employee-owned company where your leadership truly matters? Employee Benefits Corporation is hiring a Corporate Controller to join our Finance Leadership Team. In this high-impact role, you will lead the company's accounting operations and play a critical part in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and internal controls. As a key financial leader, the Corporate Controller will collaborate closely with executive leadership to support strategic financial planning, drive operational excellence, and uphold the highest standards of financial stewardship - while contributing to a culture of ownership and accountability.
Location: This position offers flexibility to work from our Middleton, WI office, remotely within Wisconsin, or a hybrid arrangement based on availability. Occasional travel to our Middleton office is required for team collaboration and key meetings.
Responsibilities Include:


  • Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets in collaboration with CFO
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and applicable reporting standards
  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal control policies and procedures
  • Provide guidance on complex accounting issues and new accounting standards
  • Lead the budgeting process in collaboration with FP&A and business leaders, delivering operational metrics and variance insights
  • Support ERP system enhancements, financial process automation, and reporting tool improvements
  • Manage and mentor Corporate Accounting team members, promoting a culture of accountability and professional development


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role
  • CPA Designation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting and internal control principles
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a high paced environment with limited direction
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Previous experience working with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and financial reporting tools


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master's degree
  • Prior experience in public accounting
  • Prior experience with payroll oversight
  • Experience working with Section 125, Section 105, COBRA or health insurance products
