Department: MED-Buehler Center - BCHPE
Salary/Grade: NEX/9

Job Summary:

This Data Assistant Associate position sits within the Buehler Center for Health Policy and Economics within the Institute for Public Health and Medicine (IPHAM) and Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine. We help foster high-quality, policy-relevant economic research and disseminate it widely to decision-makers in the public and private sectors. This position will support the research efforts of Dr. Maryann Mason.

Collects, reviews, verifies, validates, codes and inputs data into a computer processing system; audits output data. Identifies and resolves production related errors. Maintains and revises procedural lists, control records and coding schemes to process source data. Follows all data security measures established for the project.

Target hiring range for this position will be between be $17.05- $21.30 per hour ($35,600.40-$44,495.28 per year) . Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Specific Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

  • Participates in team, Center and other departmental meetings to share experiences, learn about what other team members and states are doing and help solve problems.

Administration

  • Manages data receipt, tracking and follows up on assigned project(s).
  • Detects trends and reports on patterns of errors.
  • Contacts data providers to obtain missing data.
  • Learns and complies with appropriate compliance and regulation requirements regarding protected data.
  • Provides administrative support to organization area

Development

  • Receives, collects, reviews, edits, and enters data.

Performance

  • Partners with data providers and team members to ensure data is accurate, including running or reviewing quality assurance reports, correcting erroneous data and providing feedback to the team.
  • Contact data providers to obtain missing data, to provide support to those providing data, and to answer general questions about processes and content.
  • Follows all data security protocols.

Miscellaneous

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
