Contribute to projects that enable communities and environments to prosper
We are looking for an Environmental Specialist to join our team. You are going to work closely with a team of experts on Infrastructure projects across North America. We are proud to have contributed to projects like the Fargo-Moorhead Flood Diversion in Fargo, ND, the Potomac River Crossing in Washington, DC, and the Van Sinderen Avenue Streetscape Improvements in Brooklyn, NY.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Be a key contributor in large infrastructure project environmental management - environmental review planning, permitting, construction operations, and preventative maintenance - as well as project planning
- Support Solving engineering problems and challenges while maintaining a healthy environment presently and for the future
- Perform design reviews and identify project requirements, evaluate environmental analysis documents and identify risks and needed actions, preparation and review of environmental reports and design planning chapters
- Conduct site inspections and investigations from time-to-time
- Prepare standard documents, such as technical specifications and accreditation requirements
- Research and review nature based design options for both technical and financial impact, and work with design teams to identify environmental impacts and opportunities for reduction
- Report to agencies and lead client or team meetings

On top of that, you will relate to th following:
- Education & Core Experience: Hold a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Environmental Science or a natural science, with 0-4 years of experience in environmental planning, regulatory analysis, land use management, or utility operations, or an equivalent blend of education and relevant work experience.
- Regulatory & Technical Knowledge:Possess knowledge of NYC natural resource/land use regulations, US environmental law, and infrastructure environmental permitting and monitoring requirements, including water resources planning.
- Sustainability Expertise:Understand Sustainable Infrastructure principles (e.g., ISI Envision), creative project planning, and municipal/state sustainability requirements to identify and communicate opportunities in design and engineering.
- Analytical & Technical Proficiency:Be comfortable reading engineering drawings, interpreting environmental assessments and reports, and using GIS software for analysis and visualization. Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Exceptional Communication Skills:Demonstrate high-level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical topics to diverse audiences and navigate nuanced environmental analyses.
- Professional Engagement & Relations:Have the ability to comfortably communicate with officials and engage with regulatory and accreditation agencies, with a willingness to participate in professional associations.
- Organizational & Collaborative Ability:Exhibit advanced planning and organizational skills to manage multiple time-sensitive deadlines and the capability to work effectively with remotely located staff, with a willingness to travel.

Base compensation:$73,600 to $114,600for New York location only. Actual compensation is subject to variations due to education, experience, skill set and/or location
