Summary:

We are looking for a Instructor in a Military Occupation Specialty (MOS), particularly Explosive Ordnance Disposal Instructor (89D Instructor (NCOA). The objective of this effort is for the Contractor to successfully account for, document, and perform all academic efforts as they pertain to academic training/re-training and individual evaluation while sustaining the perishable skill sets of students in an active training status.

The 89D Instructor (NCOA) will be based in Fort Lee, VA.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop training programs and materials for military personnel in the field of transportation management, including classroom instruction, hands-on training, and computer-based learning modules.
  • Adapt training programs to meet the needs of various audiences, such as new recruits, experienced personnel, and specialized units.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and other instructors to ensure that training programs are up-to-date and effective.
  • Deliver training programs in a classroom setting, using a variety of instructional techniques, such as lectures, discussions, role-playing, and simulations.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, using metrics such as student feedback, test scores, and performance evaluations.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to students to help them improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain training records and documentation and ensure that they are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Participate in professional development activities, such as attending conferences and workshops, to enhance instructional skills and knowledge.
  • The work environment may involve exposure to loud noises, dust, and other hazardous materials, as well as outdoor work in various weather conditions. The position may require occasional work outside of normal business hours or on weekends, depending on training schedules and emergencies.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of accountability and attention to detail
  • This position may require the ability to lift heavy equipment or supplies, up to 50 pounds
  • The position may also require prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting, as well as frequent use of hands and fingers to operate equipment or handle paperwork

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • All instructors must be graduates of the Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal (NAVSCOLEOD) Phase 2. All EOD 89D/89E Contract Instructors for Phase 1 shall successfully complete course requirements. Instructors must also possess at least two (2) years as an EOD Team Leader and be an EOD Senior Badge Holder
  • Completed and be able to provide completion documents for ALC and SLC in the MOS they are instructing.
  • Minimum two (2) years as an EOD Team Leader and be an EOD Senior Badge Holder
  • Graduate of Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal NAVSCOLEOD Phase 2
  • Prior military service consisting of at least four (4) years of prior military service, honorably discharged, or currently serving as a National Guard or United States Army Reserves (USAR) Warrant Officer (WO) or Senior NCO
  • Experience in instructional design and delivery, preferably in a military setting
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to operate transportation equipment as needed.
  • Must have a Secret Clearance
  • The ability to travel occasionally may also be required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in transportation, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
